Project Overview
Sahra By The River is a waterfront restaurant in Parramatta offering Lebanese inspired dining, banquets, functions and a substantial beverage selection.
With a large menu and several dining offers running across different times and occasions, the business needed more than a single restaurant menu. Each piece needed to work independently while still feeling recognisably part of the Sahra brand.
The project developed into an extensive suite of print and promotional materials designed around the restaurant's sophisticated gold, charcoal, cream and deep green visual direction.
The Brief
The objective was to create restaurant collateral that felt polished and premium without making large amounts of information difficult to navigate.
Different documents also had different purposes. The main menu needed to accommodate a significant number of dishes and banquet options. The drinks menu required clearer separation between wine, cocktails, spirits, beer and non alcoholic options. Happy hour and lunch promotions needed to be quicker to scan and more promotional in style.
Across all pieces, the visual identity still needed to remain consistent with Sahra By The River.

The Approach
The design system was built around the restaurant's existing visual direction rather than forcing every document into exactly the same layout.
For the primary dining and beverage menus, neutral textures, understated illustrations and a refined gold and deep green palette were used to create a more premium restaurant feel.
Promotional pieces such as the happy hour and lunch menus were given stronger visual contrast and clearer pricing so customers could understand the offer quickly.
Typography and spacing were carefully managed across information heavy menus to establish a clear hierarchy between menu sections, individual items, descriptions and pricing.
This created enough flexibility for each piece to suit its purpose while still maintaining a consistent Sahra By The River identity.
The Outcome
The completed project gave Sahra By The River a much more cohesive collection of customer facing material across its food, beverage and promotional offerings.
Instead of individual documents feeling disconnected, the restaurant now had a broader visual system that could move between premium dining menus, wine lists, promotional offers and general business collateral.
The finished materials balanced presentation with usability, helping extensive menu content feel organised and approachable while supporting the restaurant's more refined waterfront dining position.
Frequently Asked Questions
What did NK Collective design for Sahra By The River?
NK Collective created a broad suite of restaurant collateral including the main dining menu, banquet menus, wine lists, cocktail and beverage menus, dessert menu, lunch specials, happy hour menus and business collateral.
Can NK Collective design a full suite of restaurant menus rather than just one menu?
Yes. Restaurant projects can include coordinated food menus, drinks lists, wine menus, cocktail menus, takeaway menus, specials, promotional menus and other customer facing collateral. Each piece can be designed for its individual purpose while maintaining a consistent overall brand style.
Can existing restaurant branding be used rather than creating a new brand?
Yes. This project worked with Sahra By The River's established identity and extended it across a larger collection of menus and promotional materials. Existing logos, colours and brand elements can be used to create a more consistent suite without requiring a complete rebrand.
